The study subjects about the space distribution of districts in which many cases of family violence took place in Jeddah city, during the period 1430-1431, in addition to the factors leading to violence. Such study aims at discovering the social and economic particulars of family witnessed cases of violence recorded at Jeddah social supervisory office, plus the types of violence cases occurred during this period and try finding geographical conceptualization for the space relation between the economic & social factors and the distribution of violence cases in Jeddah districts. The researcher depends on the content analysis methodology in order to check all the files related to the family violence against the women, that available at Jeddah social supervisory center, where all violence cases reach 497, and regarding the data processing, she depends on the statistical analysis methodology represented by the descriptive and constructive statistics through using a number of statistical methods such as chi square, to realize this, the matter depends on many programs of statistical analysis such as SPSS in addition to ARC GIS (Arc View v.10.0) to draw and produce maps related to this subject. The study most important results are the total of cases that have been counted to 497 in (1431 -1432), moreover the study reveals rise of violence cases at the summer months definitely in the beginning of the academic year rather than at Ramadan in which violence decreases. The study reveals that the districts related to Al-Jamea witnessed most of the violence cases during the two years, but the least number of violence cases is witnessed in Dahban. It is noted that most cases took place against Saudi citizen especially the youth, and violence noticed to be less whenever women become elder. The study suggests many recommendations aiming at reducing the violence phenomenon prevalence, and how to treat with whom exposed to violence, the most important recommendation is the essence to spread cultural awareness through enlightening the coming generations, and in this regard, it is essential to request governmental authorities to amend some routine legal procedures in treating with violence issues, changing conceptualizations and behaviors about violence, which change does not related to victim only, but shall involve the criminal, in order to make him know to which extent victim effected with the violence, establishing centers for the protection and eligibility of violence victims, including women and girls through cooperation between the competent authorities and non-governmental organizations at municipalities related to districts in which violence cases spread. |
